Hi, I'm Declan Cain
Computer Science and Mathematics Major
University of Wisconsin-Madison
Hello all, I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
I am double majoring in both Computer Science and Mathematics where I am developing and mastering my love for problem solving.
Since starting my Computer Science and Mathematics journey, I have loved learning more about the depths of these diverse fields.
In particular some of the topics I have most enjoyed were Computer Science Theory, Software Development, and Cybersecurity.
I am currently starting my Junior year, and at the moment I am working for the Athletics Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I am working as a Software Developer Intern.
Through this internship, I am learning about full stack development, through mainly Web Development using the .NET framework.
So far it has been a great experience that has allowed me to build confidence in my coding abilities, and has helped me learn the what it means to be a Software Developer.
Lifeguard Training
HTML
CSS
JavaScript
This was a passion project that intertwined my loved for Computer Science as well as my knowledge of Lifeguarding
It is a reactive page that works on mobile and desktop with the intention of the project being a gamified form of Lifeguard training.
Movie Social Media
HTML
Node.JS
React
MongoDB
Express
API
This was a project I was interested in as my family is always trying to share movies with one another and I realized making it into a social media would make sharing movies much easier.
Throughout this project, I learned how to program a full-stack application through the use of the MERN stack, and learned the basics of user authentication through my use of JWT.
Finally, I learned a lot about API use and API creation as I both created a RESTful API backend while also using OMDB API to get movie information.
